OOC Resource: Content Guidelines.

Below is a comprehensive list (at the moment) of the things we as a community want to avoid focusing on in the game. If you have brought something up and it is not included or mis-characterized here, let your DM know & it will be corrected or explained why it appears in its current form (examples: a couple people gave specific red or yellow cards that, when combined, defined a bigger, less nuanced card; some things have been moved from one category to another to avoid repetition or encourage clarity).

Things that bore us:
-prolonged hack and slash combat with no breathing room
-long shopping trips or logistical calculations, a big focus on money
-long planning or plotting delays with no clear goal
-too much math: roll-play at the expense of role-play, a focus on min-maxing or optimization
-uneven focus: some characters being excluded, others being centered by DM or narrative; or some characters being rewarded or penalized more than others
-slowing down after the action starts because of OOC or off-topic chatter
-metagaming after failed knowledge or social rolls

Things that break immersion for us:
-death and resurrection mechanics being harsh, arbitrary, or easy fixes
-party inflighting without some OOC plotting or discussion (see Yellow Cards)
-rule-fudging or roll-fudging more than the minimum necessary

Red Cards:
These should not occur in game. If they do, please remind DM/players of this red card, & we will drop the element & work around it. If something comes up that you didn’t realize was a red card, you can add it to this list at any time.
-Misogyny, Homophobia, Transphobia
-Sexual violence or the threat thereof
-PC-endorsed racist ideology, even fantasy racist ideology (for more, see yellow cards)
-gratuitous descriptions of violence or gore; any discussion of eye-related gore
-torture
-in-session or in-chat explicit sex (Fade To Black is fine; properly tagged IC logs on the community are something else, but it shouldn’t take up session time or space)
-Innocent player actions being used against them / held over them with nasty consequences and no warning

Yellow Cards:
These should not occur in game without warning, plotting, or due care. If it does, feel free to indicate that it is a yellow card and more discussion is needed. If something comes up that you didn’t realize was a yellow card, you can add it to this list at any time.
-dramatic IC conflict without OOC discussion
-sadism or glorified violence
-setting-appropriate tribalisms, discussion of historical racial conflicts, villains whose racism is meant to be deplored/resisted
